Journey

Journey

August 24, 2020 is the day N'yajae decided to change her fairytale into reality. She went to Indiana State University from 2016- 2019 and left before her last year because of financial issues. This took a toll on her mentality, due to her never wanting to give up on anything and having a strong ambitious trait like no other. She continued her education at Ivy Tech and went back to her job in her hometown (Elkhart, IN) to try to make a living and to eventually go back to ISU. In 2020, Covid made the choice for her and she started to feel like she would never get out of this 9-5 lifestyle. Fast forward, in July 2020 enough was enough for her and she felt like she had to move on from furthering her education. She decided to work from her cousin, Tasha, basement by doing nails, hair, and skin services while still working her full-time job. The next step was to move out of her moms place and into a place she can call her own. N'yajae looked for a place for two weeks and found just that, her own home. As she went on with the process of owning her home she came up with the idea of ending what she thought she loved doing, which is cosmetology services. She began to look into something she always dreamed of doing and that was selling skincare products. She had so much on her plate that she didn't think she would have time or money for it. Her former co-worker, Tish, took the time to hear her out and made her feel like this is something to go after. On August 24, 2020 N'yajae did just that and made her first ingredient purchase. Now today, she is grateful for how everything has turned out. She let God lead the way and she took a blind path with faith. God knew what he had in store for her, she just had to trust him.

N'yajae was inspired to create NéEsthetics after years of experimenting with high-end and low-end skincare products—and still seeing that many brands don't take the time to educate their customers on what they are using on their skin daily. Large skincare corporations use many ingredients that the average person would not understand, unless they've taken the time to research the ingredients listed in their products. N'yajae wants to educate her customers in skin health, ingredients, and how to properly use skincare products. The beauty industry is a multi-billion dollar industry that anyone can put their hands in but it takes wisdom, passion, and determination to create not only a successful business, but a worthy one as well.

YouTube has been the biggest thing since MySpace and just as any child, teen, or adult would, watching videos was the best thing to do on the internet. N'yajae loved watching YouTube for not only music videos, but for skincare, hair, and makeup tutorials. As a pre-teen she became obsessed with the latest products in the beauty industry and never got tired of haunting for the next best thing. She never soaked up all that information just for herself, she wanted to help her family and friends as well. Nothing made her happier than someone asking her what should they do for their skin problems or how could they achieve her skin health. To many people, this isn't a big deal but for her it was something she took pride in and made her continue to fall deep in love with skincare. Above all, her goal is to: "Help people enjoy the skin they have and love their true self."
